'Scapes' Exhibition Now Open

This weekend was the opening of ‘Scapes’ Exhibition. It was a bit of a team effort getting started with hanging and sorting table displays, but thanks to Nuala’s tireless attention to detail and extra hours spent making final preparations the exhibition looks amazing.

Here’s my contribution to the event...four small landscapes.

'Scapes' Exhibition

This summer I discovered the joy of painting en plein air. As a floral painter I usually work in my studio, so it was a great surprise to find that working outside wasn't quite as scary as I imagined.

Having my painting buddies along helped enormously - Nuala Whales, Isabel Carmona, Pam Grayburn and Liz Milburn, all established local artists - made the whole experience really special. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover how nice it was to have folks out walking wander over to have a look at what we were working on and have a bit of a chat.

Inspired by our en plein air experiences my fellow painting buddies and I have decided to hold an exhibition of landscapes and seascapes at The Inner Piece Gallery in Thatcham, West Berkshire. We will be joined by Silk Painter and Craftmaker, Helen Mortimer, who is also part of our little group.

Here are the details...please call in if you’re nearby:

Halloween

Welcome to my blog, I am an oil painter and printmaker. Flowers, fruit and vegetables are my main subjects although I do venture into landscapes on occasion. I hope to share with you some of the things that inspire my work and to show you works in progress.

As it's Halloween, here's my painting of some pumpkins...
